On September 20, a working delegation of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union led by Mr. Do Duc Hung, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union and the Quang Ninh Electricity Company Trade Union visited and encouraged cadres, union members and workers of a number of units participating in supporting the restoration of the power grid after storm No. 3 in Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province.
Quang Ninh province is one of the localities most severely affected by the high-voltage, medium-voltage and low-voltage power grid system, receiving reinforcements from units from the North, Central and Hanoi with over 1,173 people supporting to restore the power grid system.
According to Quang Ninh Electricity Company, as of the afternoon of September 20, with the efforts of the staff, engineers, workers and units, power has been restored to over 440,243/461,678 customers (accounting for 95.36%); about 21,435 customers are temporarily without power due to storms and floods that have severely damaged the system and have not been restored.
Mr. Vu Huu Chuong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Quang Ninh Electricity Company said that storm No. 3 left many serious consequences in the province, causing 461,000 customers to lose power, more than 3,700 medium and low voltage power poles to fall and 54 transformer stations to be damaged, along with many 220kV and 110kV lines having to temporarily stop operating.
Immediately after storm No. 3 weakened, units came to Quang Ninh to provide support. In particular, the Northern Power Corporation, the Central Power Corporation, and the Hanoi Power Corporation joined hands to contribute and mobilize shock troops (a total of 1,173 people) to participate in supporting the restoration of the power grid system in 11 localities in Quang Ninh province.
In fact, at some locations where the shock team is working, meeting the workers again after completing the mission of participating in the "campaign" of the 500kV line circuit 3 from Quang Trach - Pho Noi, they continue to join the support force in Quang Ninh, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Do Duc Hung is very proud and shares the difficulties in the work of the workers.
Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Do Duc Hung also said that in response to the call and mobilization of donations to support people to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods, the General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union issued Joint Directive No. 579/CTLT-EVN-CDDLVN calling on all union members, officials and employees in the Group to contribute at least 1 day's salary to the Fund to support people affected by natural disasters and storms and floods.
Up to now, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has supported and directly visited units affected by storms and floods with an amount of over 1.2 billion VND.
