Take good care of union members and workers
On January 1, 2025, Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union (GTVT) - said that in 2024, the Vietnam Transport Trade Union closely followed the leadership and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), coordinated with the Ministry of Transport to promote the spirit of solidarity and proactiveness in direction and operation; clearly identified key and focal tasks to focus on directing and implementing many new and creative tasks, with many suitable solutions, organizing activities and implementing tasks to achieve high results.
Notable activities include implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo; implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union, Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; effectively implementing the grassroots democracy regulations through organizing conferences of workers, conferences of civil servants, annual dialogues, signing Collective Labor Agreements (CLAs) with more beneficial contents for workers...
In particular, the industry's trade union has done a good job of taking care of the lives and jobs of workers.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Transport Trade Union regularly monitors, grasps, and promptly supports workers in especially difficult circumstances. As of December 15, 2024, the Vietnam Transport Trade Union Charity Fund has decided to support activities with a total amount of VND 4,804,000,000, including: Supporting the construction costs of 8 Trade Union Shelters; visiting and giving gifts to 133 groups, 1,963 employees; giving gifts to 600 former Youth Volunteers, members of the Ho Chi Minh Trail Truong Son Tradition Association.
Support workers, visit workers on construction sites from union financial resources and Vietnam Transport Trade Union Social Fund with an amount of 151,500,000 VND.
In response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Appeal Letter of the Minister of Transport, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union issued an official dispatch calling on all levels of affiliated trade unions to propagate and mobilize agencies, units, enterprises, and cadres, union members, and employees to actively support and assist people affected by storms and floods, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives. As a result, more than 8.7 billion VND was received, the entire amount of which was transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Total expenditure for support and care activities for union members, workers, society and charity is over 13,693 billion VND.
Launching competition for innovation and creativity
According to Chairman of the Vietnam Transport Trade Union Pham Hoai Phuong, implementing the 2025 theme of "Focusing on developing union members; participating in building a clean and strong Party", trade unions at all levels in the industry focus on implementing a number of key tasks such as organizing propaganda, participating in activities to celebrate major holidays and important events of the country; focusing on propaganda, actively participating in the contents of party congresses at all levels, the 14th National Congress of the Party; strengthening propaganda activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Transport Industry's Traditional Day.
Direct, guide and urge trade unions at all levels to organize activities to effectively implement Joint Directive No. 06/CTLT-BGTVT-CDGTVTVN dated November 29, 2024 between the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Transport Trade Union on taking care of the lives of cadres and employees and ensuring traffic safety, occupational safety and health, fire prevention and fighting during the Lunar New Year 2025.
Launch emulation campaigns to achieve achievements in celebration of major holidays and anniversaries of the Party, the country and Party Congresses at all levels; focus on emulation activities to promote innovation, improve labor productivity and work efficiency, contributing to the completion of the socio-economic development plan targets for 2025.
