On November 15, Mr. Le Phan Linh - Chairman of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union said that all levels of trade unions in the industry will effectively organize activities to provide practical material and spiritual care for union members and workers; ensuring that all union members and workers have a joyful, meaningful, warm and united Tet.
The subjects of care during Tet are all employees, in which priority is given to employees in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, those affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, those whose working hours have been reduced, those who have lost their jobs, those who are owed wages and bonuses; employees from families with preferential policies; employees who stay at the enterprise to work, produce and do business during Tet.
According to the leaders of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the grassroots trade union level proactively organizes or proposes, coordinates with the professional to develop a plan to visit, give gifts, encourage, and wish the New Year to union members, employees, units, departments with permanent forces working on ships, ports, warehouses, and construction sites, in which special attention is paid to union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, occupational diseases, work-related accidents, lack of/loss of jobs due to the unit's production reduction or business restructuring, affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, etc.
Organize spring activities, visit and encourage union members, employees, officers and crew members (SQTV) who are unable to return home to celebrate Tet in a warm and joyful manner, bearing the mark of the Trade Union organization. In cases where many union members and employees cannot return home to celebrate Tet, organize the program "Tet not far from home" or other forms of activities suitable to the conditions of each enterprise.
For crew members who are on business trips and cannot take Tet holiday, the grassroots Trade Union coordinates with their professional counterparts to visit, encourage and wish Tet to the crew members' families; coordinates with the Trade Union on each ship to organize a thoughtful and safe Tet holiday (both materially and spiritually) to encourage and motivate crew members to be determined to complete their assigned tasks well.
The Corporation's Trade Union will guide and support grassroots trade unions in implementing Tet care activities for union members and employees.
It is expected that the Corporation's Trade Union will spend more than 1.5 billion VND to visit and give gifts to about 800 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, production units and teams...
Based on the number of employees in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, long-term hospitalization, serious work accidents (traffic accidents) being treated in the hospital, losing their jobs due to the unit reducing production or restructuring the enterprise, sent by the grassroots unions for care. The support level is not more than 1,000,000 VND/person (of which, cash is not more than 700,000 VND and in-kind is not more than 300,000 VND) from the union's financial resources.
