Mr. Ho Si Hien - Chairman of the Trade Union of Tam Ngoc Company Limited (Can Tho City) - said that the Trade Union officials at the grassroots level in particular and the Trade Union in general play the role of a bridge to create a harmonious production relationship between employers and employees.
To promote this role, the Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union always promptly listens and coordinates with relevant professional departments to resolve issues arising during the working process, ensuring the rights of Union members and employees. Although it has only been established for more than 1 year, the Company's Trade Union has had many activities to care for and help Union members and employees enjoy many benefits, improving their material and spiritual life.
“In addition to activities such as giving Tet gifts, visiting the disadvantaged, organizing Union Meals on the occasion of Workers’ Month… the Company’s Union proposed and was approved by the Board of Directors to build sports fields on campus, creating conditions for union members and workers to relax after work, exercise, and improve work efficiency,” Mr. Hien informed.
With more than 90% of the company's employees being union members, Ms. Nguyen Huynh Tu Thanh - Vice President of the Union of Phuong Dong Food Processing Export Company Limited (Can Tho City) - said that the company always pays attention to implementing the provisions in the collective labor agreement so that union members and employees can enjoy practical benefits and achieve effective production.
Improve the quality of union staff
According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, as of September 2024, the city had 241 enterprises signing collective labor agreements. The agreements are concise, focusing on provisions that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law, such as wages, bonuses, allowances, subsidies, shift meals, holidays, Tet, etc.
Thanks to that, Union members and employees are increasingly enjoying many practical benefits, enthusiastically producing and completing assigned targets. This result is the effort of the city's Trade Union at all levels and the Trade Union staff at the grassroots level are the important bridges.
Trade Union cadres play a role in building labor relations and the stability and sustainable development of agencies and enterprises. This force not only performs the function and task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees, but also mobilizes union members and employees to enthusiastically compete in labor production, contributing to the successful implementation of political tasks and production and business targets of agencies and enterprises.
The city's trade union will continue to pay attention to dialogue and collective bargaining, bringing benefits to union members and workers, and building a team of trade union officials, especially a team of non-state trade union chairmen with intelligence, courage, enthusiasm, prestige, responsibility, capacity, and qualities to meet requirements.
This is a breakthrough to successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of Can Tho Trade Union and a solution to effectively implement the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of Vietnam Trade Union and Resolution 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation.
