Proposal to increase the role of orienting part-time jobs suitable for students' training majors
The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just posted a Summary of opinions, received and explained comments on the draft Circular regulating student work for individuals and organizations to contribute opinions.
Sending comments on supporting, career counseling, employment, startups, scientific research, skills competitions and international integration, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education proposed that the circular should clarify the responsibility of the school in orienting and recommending part-time jobs suitable for the training industry.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Education said that this will avoid students working part-time affecting their studies; increase orientation, not administrative management.
Meanwhile, Hanoi University of Science and Technology proposes to consider emphasizing the role of guiding students in selecting and developing scientific research topics associated with the needs of science and technology development in the current period.
Strengthen school counseling to protect students' mental health
Regarding school counseling and school social work, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education proposed to supplement regulations to encourage the establishment of a full-time or part-time school counseling department.
Meanwhile, the University of Procuracy believes that it is necessary to clarify the responsibility of training institutions in organizing counseling and psychological support for students studying in a high-pressure environment; ensuring confidentiality and privacy of students when participating in counseling activities.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology proposed considering strengthening counseling and school psychological support. Hanoi University of Science and Technology believes that this helps educational institutions proactively grasp the mental health situation of students and provide timely support.
Duy Tan University also proposed that the Circular should supplement content on school counseling.
Regarding full-time personnel for school counseling, the University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) believes that it is necessary to supplement specific regulations on norms for full-time personnel for school counseling and social work and mandatory requirements for counseling room standards. At the same time, this training institution proposes that full-time personnel must have professional qualifications in Psychology or Social Work.
