This afternoon (February 4), the Government Office held a regular Government press conference for January 2026. Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son chaired the press conference.
At the press conference, Director of the Department of Salary and Social Insurance Pham Truong Giang (Ministry of Home Affairs) informed about the situation of salaries and Tet bonuses in 2026.
Mr. Pham Truong Giang said that on November 10, 2025, the Government issued Decree No. 293/2025/ND-CP adjusting the regional minimum wage by 7.2% and applying from January 1, 2026. Accordingly, this adjustment level is higher than in recent years.
Mr. Giang said that the announcement of policies from November creates conditions for businesses to have time to prepare. In addition, the Ministry of Home Affairs also issued 2 guiding documents.

Providing specific information about salaries, Director Pham Truong Giang said that the average salary in 2025 for workers is 9.76 million VND/month, an increase of 11% compared to 2024.
In which, for 100% state-owned limited liability companies, the average salary is 12.89 million VND/month, an increase of 18.2% compared to 2024; for private enterprises, the average salary is 8.66 million VND/month, an increase of 7% compared to 2024; for FDI enterprises, the average salary is 10.77 million VND/month, an increase of 9.6% compared to 2024.
Regarding bonuses, Mr. Pham Truong Giang said that according to reports from more than 50,000 businesses, the average bonus is 8.69 million VND/person, an increase of 13% compared to Tet At Ty.
In which, state-owned enterprises are about 9.44 million VND/person, an increase of 23% compared to 2024; private enterprises are 7.37 million VND/person, an increase of 9% compared to 2024; FDI enterprises are 9.21 million VND/person, an increase of 12% compared to 2024.
On the basis of early and synchronous implementation, salaries and bonuses have helped improve income and living standards, increase the time spent with businesses by workers, and reduce spontaneous shifts. This is the basis and condition for increasing labor productivity in the past time.
