Guiding housewives to build a diet for people with high liver enzymes

Kiều Vũ |

High liver enzymes are a fairly common condition, which may be related to many causes such as fatty liver, alcohol consumption or some liver diseases.

In addition to examining and treating according to the doctor's instructions, building a reasonable diet is an important factor to help reduce the burden on the liver and support overall health.

First of all, people with high liver enzymes should prioritize fresh, less processed and fiber-rich foods. Green vegetables, tubers, fruits with appropriate portion sizes can help make meals more diverse.

Whole grains, beans and low-fat protein foods such as fish, skinless poultry, eggs or tofu are also options for housewives to consider when preparing meals for members with high liver enzymes. When cooking, housewives should prioritize steaming, boiling, grilling or pan-frying with moderate amount of oil instead of frying with a lot of grease.

A special point to note is to limit alcohol. Alcoholic beverages can increase pressure on the liver, so people with liver enzyme problems should talk to their doctor about completely abstaining.

In addition, you should reduce foods high in saturated fat, animal organs, fast food, processed foods and foods high in sugar. Sugary soft drinks, candies and overly sweet desserts should also not appear frequently in the menu.

You should not arbitrarily use liver tonics, functional foods or herbs thinking that they can lower liver enzymes.

The menu for people with high liver enzymes does not necessarily have to be too strict. The important thing is to eat balancedly, control fat and sugar levels, limit alcohol, increase fiber-rich foods and maintain a reasonable weight.

Diet only plays a supporting role. If liver enzymes increase for a long time or significantly, patients need to be assessed by a doctor to determine the cause instead of just adjusting the menu at home.
