Salmon cake – a very healthy source of Omega-3 – will be an interesting change to your Christmas party.
To make salmon cakes, housewives need to prepare some ingredients including: 500gr fresh salmon; 2 eggs; 100gr bread crumbs; 70gr onions; olive oil or unsalted butter; 10ml Worcestershire sauce and some other basic spices.
Clean the salmon thoroughly before steaming it. Use two forks to mash and mix the salmon, eggs, bread crumbs, onions, Worcestershire sauce and season to taste. Make sure the mixture is not too dry or too runny, housewives can add a little lemon juice or fresh milk to achieve the right moisture.
Shape the mixture into salmon cakes about 1 - 1.5cm thick. Housewives should also note that to make the cake look more beautiful, shape it into a round ball and then use the palm of your hand to flatten it until it reaches the desired thickness.
Heat olive oil or butter in a non-stick pan, fry the cakes for about 3 - 4 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
Serve the salmon cake on a plate with fresh salad, white rice or banh mi. To make the dish more flavorful, you can mix the dipping sauce with mayonnaise, chili sauce and tomato sauce or use lemon garlic sauce.
In case you don't finish eating the salmon cake, you can store it in the freezer for up to 2 to 7 days and can defrost and fry the cake again before eating.
