Dr. Rinky Kapoor, dermatologist and cosmetician at The Esthetic Clinics (India), said that as the new year approaches, many people start to change their diet and beauty regimen to prepare for the holidays and Tet.
There are some underrated skin care habits that are very effective and easy to implement, including:
Wash your face with cold water
Skip the habit of using hot water, you just need a little cold water to wash your face will help tighten pores, reduce eye bags and stimulate blood circulation for smooth, bright skin.
Massage for 30 seconds with cleansing oil
Massaging with cleansing oil can dissolve impurities, stimulate circulation and leave skin soft and supple.
Green tea ice cubes
Freeze green tea into ice cubes and apply to your face to reduce inflammation, minimize pores, and provide antioxidants to your skin.
Silk pillowcases for more beautiful skin
Switch to a silk pillowcase to reduce friction on your skin as you sleep. This helps reduce wrinkles, reduce irritation, and keep your skin moisturized throughout the night.
“Don't touch your face”
The simplest rule, but one that is often overlooked by many people, is to avoid touching your face throughout the day to prevent the spread of bacteria, acne, and premature aging.
Note
Skincare habits like washing your face with cold water, using a silk pillowcase, massaging your face with a cleansing oil or green tea ice cubes, and most importantly, avoiding touching your face are great additions to your skin care routine, says Dr. Rinky Kapoor.
However, these skin care routines may not be suitable for all skin types or textures.
Dr. Kapoor explains that washing your face with cold water is fine, but doing it too often can increase your risk of colds, coughs, and sinus infections, especially during cold weather.
Additionally, some people touch their face frequently, which, according to Dr. Kapoor, can significantly damage your skin, leading to acne, pimples, and blemishes.
Along with the above mentioned skin care habits, you should also focus on a balanced diet. Because if you constantly eat a lot of fried or processed foods, you may encounter a variety of skin problems.
Try eating clean and balanced meals and make other lifestyle changes like getting 7-8 hours of sleep a day, eating on time, drinking enough water, using skin care products and maintaining hygiene will be helpful for your health and skin to welcome the new year.
