Previously, Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung signed a Decision approving rewards for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the fight against crime.
At the ceremony, Mr. Phan Nguyen Hoang Tan - Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee - praised the brave action of Mr. Nguyen Cong Dinh who did not fear danger to protect people's property, demonstrating the high sense of responsibility of citizens in participating in the fight against all kinds of crimes.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Dinh is a union member, has worked for many years at Co.opmart Phan Thiet, and has good professional expertise.
As Lao Dong reported, on November 4, Mr. Dinh was returning home when he discovered two suspicious individuals on a motorbike, so he followed them to monitor them. When they reached Nguyen Tuong Street, Phan Thiet City, the person sitting behind them got on a local's motorbike parked in front of the house and sped away.
Mr. Dinh drove his motorbike straight into the thief and chased him, together with the people, promptly arrested the thief and handed him over to the police.
By the evening of the same day, Phan Thiet City Police had captured the remaining suspect and the vehicle used to commit the crime.
Previously, Mr. Dinh received an unexpected reward from the Provincial Police Director, a certificate of merit from the Director of Co.opmart Phan Thiet, and an immediate reward from the General Director of Saigon Co.op and the Director of Co.opmart area.
