On December 10, the Center for Community Development Research and Training in coordination with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor organized a direct training program for union officials and key workers.
Attending the training session were Ms. Do Hong Van - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department - Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Luong Trong Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor; Ms. Leigh McCumber - Political Advisor, Canadian Embassy in Vietnam; representatives of the leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor and 110 union officials and workers of 16 factories in industrial parks in Thanh Hoa province.
According to the organizers, the program aims to equip union officials and workers with active communication skills, control emotions and promote healthy parent-child relationships.
Studies by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor show that the living conditions and childcare of workers in industrial parks still have many limitations. Only 26% of workers have cool houses and children's play space; 52.9% of workers have little time to be close to their children due to long working hours; many families lack access to knowledge and parenting skills. On that basis, the No-VAC project was built to support workers' parents to increase understanding, reduce conflicts and create a safe, respectful and positive family environment for children.
The training session included the following contents: The meaning of parents controlling emotions and being friends with their children; introducing in detail the goals, time and activities of the No-VAC project; instructions on using online learning programs for workers; discussing and answering questions with students.

Speaking at the training session, Ms. Do Hong Van - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department - Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - highly appreciated the program's contents. She expressed her hope that through the training, union officials and workers will be equipped with more skills in active communication, emotional control and building a non-violent family environment, contributing to protecting the healthy development of children, especially children of workers in enterprises.
According to the organizing committee, during the implementation period from November 2025 to June 2026, the No-VAC project will reach at least 3,510 direct beneficiaries, including 110 union officials and key workers participating in direct training; 2,600 workers studying online on preventing violence against women and children; 800 children aged 10-18 participating in Father-Child Connection Day.
Two key online courses include: Controlling Parents Emotions helping parents identify, understand and navigate negative emotions to avoid hurting young spirit; and Active Communication with Children helping parents understand the needs of themselves, their partner and children, while learning how to turn negative situations into positive in daily communication.
