The largest social housing facility is gradually being completed
In the orientation of urban development associated with sustainable security, Thai Nguyen province has been paying great attention to the development of social housing. The Dai Thang residential area project, invested by TNG LAND Joint Stock Company, started construction in April 2024 with the expectation of becoming a highlight in the housing policy for workers.
The project is built on an area of over 11 hectares, located in Van Xuan and Pho Yen wards, close to the Thai Nguyen - Hanoi expressway axis, near industrial parks, schools and hospitals. Of which, nearly 1ha is planned to be used as social housing, including 34 2-storey townhouses and an 18-storey apartment building with a total of 361 apartments.
According to the design, the apartments have an area of 26.7m2 to 70m2, flexibly arranged from 1 to 3 rooms. This scale can accommodate about 800 people, targeting the main customer group of low-income workers and policy beneficiaries.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper in early August 2025, at the construction site, many items are being implemented synchronously. The townhouse has been handed over since March, the basic technical infrastructure system has been completed, the high-rise apartment building has completed the rough construction and is entering the completion stage.
Talking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Canh Hung - the supervisor of the Project Management Board, is currently focusing on completing the final items such as planting trees, installing equipment, connecting electricity and water... to hand over in the third quarter of 2025. "We are mobilizing maximum human resources and equipment to speed up progress, ensuring quality and safety" - Mr. Hung said.
Regarding the selling price, the investor said that the smallest apartment costs more than 300 million VND, the largest apartment costs about 800 million VND. This price is considered suitable for the financial capacity of many workers working in industrial parks, especially when there are appropriate preferential loan policies from banks.
Realizing the dream of settling down
Currently, most of the workers in industrial clusters and parks are living in small residential areas with basic living conditions but still have many limitations in space and utilities. The dream of having a place to settle down is still far away for many workers here.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Sang, a worker working in an industrial park in Pho Yen City (old) shared that her family has lived and worked here for nearly 10 years. Currently, the couple and their young child are renting a room near the company, the area is just enough for basic activities.
According to Ms. Sang, since knowing that the Dai Thang social housing project has been implemented and built near the industrial park and cluster here, many workers in the company have been very interested and hope the project will be completed soon.
"With social housing, if we are supported with loans to pay in installments over time, my husband and I can consider. With a stable place to live near the workplace, we will feel secure in sticking together for a long time" - Ms. Sang added.
Sharing the same concern about the dream of settling down, Mr. Tran Van Hung, from Lang Son province, came to Thai Nguyen to work as a worker here for more than 6 years and is currently renting a room near the company for convenient travel. According to him, with the current salary of workers, buying a commercial house is out of reach.
According to Mr. Hung, with a price starting from over 300 million VND for small apartments, social housing is a suitable choice for the income of many workers today.
For many low-income workers, social housing is a fulcrum for security at work, cost reduction, stabilizing life and long-term attachment, contributing to keeping human resources stable in industrial parks.
