The final was held live and online with 100 locations. The final was attended by 32 excellent candidates selected from the preliminary round.
Contestants in the final round from 20 grassroots trade unions under the Vietnam Health Trade Union and 14 grassroots trade unions under the provincial and municipal health sector trade unions went through a presentation round introducing their units, demonstrating their knowledge of laws, labor policies and how to resolve practical situations in trade union work.
After the competitions, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to Mr. Ha Thai Minh (union officer of Nguyen Van Thu Medical Center, Vung Liem District, under the Vinh Long Province Health Sector Union). The Organizing Committee also awarded 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 7 Encouragement Prizes to the contestants.
According to Ms. Pham Thanh Binh - President of Vietnam Health Trade Union - the contest is a forum for health union officials nationwide to exchange, learn, share experiences; improve awareness, professional capacity and practical skills for union officials.
In his speech, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor always considers the Vietnam Health Trade Union as a pioneer in emulation movements and innovation activities of the trade union system.
“With 67 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Health Trade Union has constantly strived to promote its role as a representative and protector of the legal and legitimate rights of medical staff,” Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized.
The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor assessed that the contest for excellent medical union officials is a creative and practical activity. This is not only a playground for candidates to demonstrate their talents, knowledge and courage, but also an opportunity for union officials across the country to learn from each other and share valuable experiences.
“Therefore, developing a team of union officials with good expertise and solid skills is a top priority in the coming time. I believe that the competition will create a strong motivation for unions at all levels nationwide to learn and replicate this meaningful model,” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung.
