According to the provisions of this circular, employees after being diagnosed with occupational diseases must limit exposure to harmful factors that cause occupational diseases, be treated according to the professional guidelines of the Ministry of Health, and for occupational toxic disease groups, detoxification and disinfection must be carried out in a timely manner.
It is noteworthy that when a worker is diagnosed with a occupational disease, they will be introduced by the employer to a medical examination to determine the degree of reduced working capacity to enjoy social insurance benefits, receive treatment, nursing, and occupational rehabilitation according to the provisions of law.
Circular 60/2025/TT-BYT also stipulates the determination of occupational diseases to be added to the list of occupational diseases entitled to social insurance based on one of the following criteria:
Determine the link between exposure to harmful factors during labor and a specific disease. Some diseases may appear after many years of first exposure to harmful factors during labor, the worker may have retired or switched to another job.
The disease occurs in the group of workers exposed to harmful factors, which often has a higher incidence rate than the group of workers without exposure.
Diseases that occur in workers due to exposure to harmful factors during labor but have not had conditions to be studied in Vietnam and have been internationally recognized as occupational diseases entitled to social insurance are added to the list of occupational diseases entitled to social insurance.
