Phu Tho statistics assess that business activities in the first quarter had many bright spots thanks to support solutions and a smooth investment environment.
The number of newly registered businesses increased by 72.8% compared to the same period.
The business registration situation achieved many good results. As of March 20, 2026, the whole province had 1,262 newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of 9.3 trillion VND, creating jobs for 5,830 workers; an increase of 72.8% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 48.8% in registered capital and an increase of 24.2% in the number of workers compared to the same period.
Phu Tho statistics assess that the business of enterprises in the processing and manufacturing industry recorded a downward trend compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.
The main reason is that the first quarter had Tet Nguyen Dan, the holiday time was longer than other quarters.
Specifically, only 16.2% of businesses answered that the production and business situation in the first quarter of 2026 improved; 46.9% of businesses with stable production situations remained the same and up to 36.9% of businesses had more difficult production and business situations.
It is forecasted that in the second quarter of 2026, the production and business situation of enterprises tends to be more positive than in the first quarter of 2026.
40.6% of businesses answered that their production and business situation would be better; 35.1% of businesses forecast stable production and business; 24.4% of businesses forecast difficult production and business.
Regarding labor use: In the first quarter of 2026 compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, 74.9% of enterprises assessed that the labor scale remained stable and increased; 25.1% of enterprises assessed a decrease in labor scale.
Trend in the second quarter compared to the first quarter of 2026, 83.8% of businesses forecast that the number of employees will increase and remain stable; 16.2% of businesses forecast a decrease in the number of employees.
