Finding a job at the end of the year is difficult
In the first quarter of 2025, according to many workers coming to work as unemployment benefits at the Hanoi Employment Service Center, finding a new job is currently much more difficult than before.
Having many years of experience in the field of marketing and content editing, Ms. Trang Thu (Cau Giay ward) said that since the old unit was dissolved, she and many colleagues have not yet found a suitable job.
"Finding a job is much more difficult. I have been in the labor market for more than ten years, but recently I feel that finding a job that suits my skills and experience is more difficult than before. Many businesses dissolved, some agencies merged, causing opportunities to decrease. However, new positions have also appeared in the market, but the problem is whether I have enough skills to meet the requirements or not," Ms. Trang Thu shared.
Sharing the same opinion with Ms. Thu, Ms. Nguyen Thu Hien (Cau Giay Ward) also said that in the past 2 months, she has actively found a new job and interviewed a number of places, but the requirements of the business are very high. Moreover, Ms. Hien also wants to switch to a new field, so even though she has experience in working, it is still not suitable for those companies.
"I was worried and pressured, but I still believed that if I persevered, I would find a suitable job," Ms. Hien shared.
The labor market is still vibrant but recruitment requirements are increasingly strict
Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center - commented that the capital's labor market from now until the end of the year still has many positive signals, creating momentum for socio-economic development. However, the requirements of businesses for candidates have changed significantly.
"For workers, whether high school or high school, when participating in activities at the Center, they are actively supported. However, depending on the time, the recruitment needs of businesses will be different. There was a period when they focused on recruiting unskilled workers, and at other times they prioritized workers with professional qualifications, said Mr. Vu Quang Thanh.
According to Mr. Thanh, in August and September, labor recruitment has decreased compared to the general labor recruitment demand. This is very understandable because at each time, the labor use of enterprises is different, based on that, enterprises will make requirements for recruitment work.
In September, the Hanoi Employment Service Center organized many online and direct job fairs connecting with provinces, helping more than 1,000 workers find new jobs. This shows that recruitment demand is still large, but the requirement of skills and adaptation to market changes are becoming decisive factors.
