On June 17, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) said that it had just coordinated with the Khanh Hoa Trade Union Charity Fund and the Khanh Vinh District Labor Federation to organize the handover of the Trade Union Shelter to 4 union members in Khanh Vinh District on June 16. These are union members who were supported by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor to build a Trade Union Shelter in the Workers' Month 2025.
Ms. Cao Thi Nguyet is a member of the grassroots union of Khanh Thanh commune, Khanh Vinh district, very happy to guide Khanh Hoa union officials to visit her spacious level 4 house after nearly 2 months of construction with union support funds.

For the past 2 years, Ms. Nguyet and her husband have had to stay at their mother's house, which was crowded and cramped. Although her parents gave her land, Ms. Nguyet's economic conditions were that she worked as a commune farmers' association civil servant and her husband worked as a warehouse employee, so her dream of having her own roof could not be fulfilled.
Knowing her situation, grassroots union officials and the Khanh Vinh District Labor Federation guided her through the procedures to request support to build a warm house. With the support of 60 million VND from the Khanh Hoa Trade Union Charity Fund, Ms. Nguyet and her husband boldly borrowed more than 100 million VND from the bank to build a level 4 house with 2 bedrooms, living room, and spacious kitchen.

For Mr. Mai Thoai, a security guard at Tram Huong Kindergarten (Khanh Binh commune, Khanh Vinh district), a level 4 house has been the dream of the couple for many years. Mr. Thoai's security salary is just enough to cover his children's education, and his wife does not have a stable job. Therefore, the old house has been degraded for many years, but the couple still do not dare to demolish it but only temporarily cover it.
When he received the news that the Union had supported him with 60 million VND, Mr. Mai Thoai did not hesitate to build a house so that his children could still live with their parents in the new house before they grew up.

"With the money supported by the Union, I borrowed more to build a house with a total cost of about 120 million VND. Saving partly on the construction workers, the family joined hands to support the work. For nearly 2 months, I have been trying to work day and night to complete the upcoming rainy season so that my family can rest assured that we won't have to worry about leakage before and after" - Mr. Thoai shared.
For Ms. Cao Thi Kim Chi working in Khanh Binh commune and Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Huyen working at Lien Sang Primary School, in the upcoming rainy season, they are assured of working because the union has supported them with 30 million VND to repair their dilapidated houses.
According to Mr. Bui Dang Thanh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, the 4 cases of handing over Trade Union Shelters in the mountainous district of Khanh Vinh are quite special. Because according to the policy of merging and streamlining the apparatus, the grassroots trade unions in the administrative sector receiving 100% of the budget salary will no longer have a trade union organization. And the above union members will no longer participate in trade unions.
Statistics from the beginning of 2025 to now show that 27 union members in the province have been supported by the Trade Union to build warm houses. In which, there are many cases of union members in the administrative sector. And in nearly 20 years, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor has implemented the Trade Union Shelter program, more than 600 union members have benefited from it. Many union shelters have helped workers working in agencies and units stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
