The 2024 Trade Union Law (effective from July 1, 2025) has supplemented the responsibility of union members compared to the 2012 Trade Union Law.

The responsibilities of trade union members in the 2012 Trade Union Law (effective) are prescribed in Article 19. Accordingly, the responsibility of the current union members includes: observing and implementing the Vietnam Trade Union Charter, the Resolution of the Trade Union; participate in trade union activities, build strong trade unions; learning to improve political, cultural, professional and professional skills; training the quality of the working class; Live and work according to the Constitution and the Law. Trade union members are responsible for uniting and helping colleagues to improve their professional skills, professional skills and labor and protect the legitimate and legitimate rights and interests of workers and trade unions.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Trade Union Law (effective from July 1, 2025) has added the responsibility of union members, notably the responsibility to participate in building progressive, harmonious and stable labor relations.

Article 22 of the 2024 Trade Union Law stipulates the responsibility of the Trade Union members as follows: Observing and implementing the Vietnam Trade Union Charter, Resolutions and regulations of the Trade Union; participate in trade union activities, build strong trade unions; Learning to improve political, cultural, professional, professional, professional skills, working style; training the quality of the working class; Live and work according to the constitution and law.

Union members are also responsible for solidarity, helping colleagues in work and in life; improving productivity, quality, and labor efficiency; protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers and trade union organizations; participating in building progressive, harmonious, and stable labor relations.

According to the terminological explanation of the 2019 Labor Code, labor relations are social relations arising in the hiring, use of labor, and payment of wages between employees, employers, representative organizations of parties, and competent State agencies. Labor relations include individual labor relations and collective labor relations.

The 2019 Labor Code stipulates the building of labor relations as follows: Labor relations are established through dialogue, negotiation, and agreement according to the principles of voluntariness, goodwill, equality, cooperation, and respect for each other's legitimate rights and interests.

Employers, organizations representing employers and employees, and organizations representing employees build progressive, harmonious and stable labor relations with the support of competent state agencies.

Trade unions participate with competent State agencies to support the building of progressive, harmonious and stable labor relations; supervise the implementation of labor law regulations; protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers...
