Article 21 of the Law on Trade Union 2024 stipulates the rights of trade union members as follows: Request the Trade Union to represent, protect the legitimate and legitimate rights and interests when being infringed; have information, discuss, propose and vote for the union's work; Being propagated and disseminated about the Party's guidelines and guidelines, the State's policies and laws related to trade unions, workers and regulations of the Trade Union.
In addition, trade union members have the right to stand for election, nomination and election of leaders of the Trade Union in accordance with this Law and the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union; questioning trade union leaders at all levels, proposing disciplining trade union officials with violations according to the provisions of the Vietnam Trade Union Charter; Free trade unions are free of law on trade unions, labor, employment, social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, safety, occupational hygiene, officials, public servants and public employees.
Union members are advised, guided, supported by the Union to find a job, learn a trade, improve their professional qualifications, skills, and professional skills; are visited and helped when they are sick, pregnant, have difficulties, or are in trouble and enjoy other care and welfare activities organized by the Union; participate in cultural, sports, sightseeing, and tourism activities organized or jointly organized by the Union.
Union members have the right to propose to the Trade Union to recommend to agencies, organizations, units, enterprises, cooperatives, and cooperative unions on the implementation of regimes, policies, and laws for employees; to enjoy social housing rental policies of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; to be commended and rewarded for achievements in labor, production, and trade union activities; and other rights according to relevant laws and the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Thus, Article 21 of the 2024 Trade Union Law has 12 provisions (an increase of 5 provisions compared to the 2012 Trade Union Law) specifically stipulating the rights and groups of rights of union members.
