One experience that the superior union in Da Nang has summarized and disseminated to the grassroots union to implement, bringing success, is not to be greedy and take on too much in dialogue and negotiation. When the dialogue and negotiation reach a consensus, the easy things should be done first, the difficult things that cannot be done should be proposed and discussed later. For example, in a dialogue with 10 contents, the boss agreed to 5 contents, the remaining 5 contents were not agreed upon.
At this time, the union does not necessarily have to negotiate the remaining contents but must be flexible, considering the negotiation session as successful with 5 contents. The remaining contents will continue to be persistently pursued for dialogue and negotiation next time, and the time after that. The grassroots union must flexibly apply flexibility but decisiveness, persistently pursue and have opinions with its proposals. Only then can it bring basic benefits to workers.
In addition, the Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation also affirmed that in order to effectively carry out dialogue and negotiation at enterprises, the support of the upper-level trade union for the grassroots trade union is a very important factor. In Da Nang, each upper-level trade union official is a solid support for the grassroots trade union official.
Wherever the grassroots union is needed, the superiors will support it, regardless of difficulties or time, ready to "hold hands and show work", ready to share knowledge and experience. That is the working philosophy of the full-time union cadres in Da Nang. The closeness between the full-time union cadres and the grassroots union cadres is the key to success in all union activities.
