That was the directive speech of Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union at the training conference for nearly 150 union officials of the Civil Servants' Trade Union in 59 provinces and cities across the country.
The training conference organized by the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union took place from September 11 to 13 in Da Lat city (Lam Dong).
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized that the quality of staff greatly determines the results of the union's activities. Therefore, improving the capacity of union staff is a necessary requirement, especially in the new situation.
This is one of the activities that the Vietnam Civil Servants' Union has maintained for many years. Each union official must be proactive, regularly study and update new regulations.
"Especially the legal regulations related to the rights of union members, officials, civil servants, workers and trade unions. This is a necessary requirement for union officials" - Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu affirmed.
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, organizing training for union officials is the task of unions at all levels; the task of higher-level unions towards lower-level unions.
Thereby, timely equipping, supplementing knowledge, innovating methods, training professional skills for union cadres at all levels, especially grassroots union cadres. Only then can we meet practical requirements and improve the quality of union activities.
Within the framework of this training conference, union officials were able to study, exchange and discuss the following contents: Innovation in the thinking of union officials in the new context associated with administrative reform; some basic points in the Law on Social Insurance (amended); draft Law on Trade Unions (amended); information on the current period of State administrative reform. Topic "Improving office culture, public ethics and codes of conduct, communication skills for cadres, civil servants and public employees".
