Implementing the direction of the EVN Group Party Committee, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has directed affiliated trade unions at all levels to compile statistics on housing for workers in difficult circumstances, working away from home, etc.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union requested its affiliated trade unions to deploy statistics on employees who are living in "temporary or dilapidated houses" ( Criteria for temporary or dilapidated houses according to Decision No. 55/QD-BXD dated January 20, 2025 sent by the Ministry of Construction); coordinate with the professional statistics on employees' housing in remote areas (where there are no houses to live in, currently renting houses, or do not have a stable place to live); continue to effectively implement the Trade Union Shelter Program, grasp the housing situation and needs of employees to propagate and mobilize employees who are eligible to register for the Trade Union Shelter Program.
Mr. Do Duc Hung said that Resolution No. 302-NQ/DU dated June 4 of the Standing Committee of the EVN Group Party Committee resolved to ensure working conditions and internal security for employees in the group.
The resolution mentions a number of important contents related to workers such as: Vehicles, equipment, operating houses... The Party Committee of the Group assigned the Party Committee of the National Power Transmission Corporation and Power Companies to direct the review and plan to equip enough passenger cars and tools, equipment for operation and repair of the power grid; the equipped means, tools and tools must meet the prescribed standards.
During the period of not being equipped with enough equipment, it is necessary to ensure 100% of vehicle wear and tear and fuel costs for workers (using personal vehicles to serve the operation and repair of the power grid) in June 2025; not to let waste or negativity happen.
Immediately review the current situation of on-duty houses operating the power transmission and distribution grid, especially in remote areas; have a plan to deploy the construction of on-duty houses (shortage) in accordance with the actual conditions of the unit.
Regarding housing for workers in difficult circumstances and working away from home, the EVN Group Party Committee assigned the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union; affiliated Party Committees to direct the same-level trade union in June 2025, organize a campaign to all workers in the group to donate and implement the program "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" for households of workers in the group in difficult circumstances; coordinate and organize the implementation of the program throughout the trade union system, striving to complete the program in 2025.
In addition, the Resolution of the EVN Group Party Committee directs the affiliated Party Committees to pay attention to directing; the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union to preside over reviewing and assessing the situation, having proposed solutions for housing for workers working away from their families in remote areas who are currently renting houses, not having a stable place to live to work, and units with statistics and reporting data to the Vietnam Electricity Group Party Committee in June 2025.
During Workers' Month 2025, Vietnam Electricity Trade Union at all levels supported workers in difficult circumstances with 24 "Union Shelters", with a total amount of 740 million VND (the amount of support is at least 30 million VND/house and the highest is 60 million VND/house).
