In the last months of the year, when production demand increases, many businesses in Can Tho City and neighboring localities must promote recruitment and supplement labor force.
Notably, some businesses are expanding the recruitment age, creating more job opportunities for workers.

At Lac Ty II Co., Ltd. (Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park, Can Tho City), recruitment demand increased sharply in the last months of the year due to increased production orders. The enterprise expects to need about 1,500 unskilled workers from now until the end of the year.
Mr. Bui Huu Thanh - employee of the Company's Human Resources Department - said that the unit recruits workers aged 18-50. Expanding the age limit helps older workers have more opportunities to find jobs, instead of just focusing on young human resources.
We recruit from 18 - 50 years old, this will expand opportunities for older workers who want to find jobs," Mr. Thanh said.
To attract personnel in the context of increasing recruitment competition at the end of the year, the company applies preferential salary policies, supports travel costs and arranges 7 bus routes for workers.
Meanwhile, at Connector Electronic Engineering Co., Ltd. (Tay Ninh province), the enterprise currently needs to recruit about 300 - 500 workers due to increased production in the last months of the year.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thi - specialist of the Company's Recruitment Department - said that businesses mainly recruit general laborers aged 18-45, without requiring qualifications or skills, only needing good health.
The income level of this group of workers is about 9 - 12 million VND/month, including allowances. During the working process, businesses also have support policies when workers encounter difficulties.
For unskilled workers, the company organizes training from the beginning and still ensures income during the training period.
Notably, the group of workers aged 35-45 is still being considered for recruitment by businesses. According to Ms. Thi, age does not necessarily become a barrier if workers have health, experience or skills suitable for job requirements.
For older workers, if they have skills, businesses still create conditions for them to work. Both businesses and workers have opportunities to work and generate income," Ms. Thi shared.
At the online job transaction session in the third quarter of 2026 organized by the Can Tho City Employment Service Center (DVVL) in August, 183 units participated in recruitment with more than 38,000 vacant job positions to be recruited.
The occupations currently needing labor are quite diverse in occupations and positions such as sales staff, cashiers, accountants, marketing, graphic designers, warehouse keeper, office workers, Korean teachers, electrical maintenance, construction engineers, mechanics, biosafety, doctors, receptionists, livestock workers, seafood processing workers, production workers, machine operators, general laborers.....
The city's DVVL Center forecasts that in the last 6 months of the year, the labor market will continue to grow positively but there is still a possibility of a shortage of high-quality human resources.
At the same time, the shortage of unskilled labor needs to be addressed, because this is not only a difficulty for businesses but also a development problem for the local economy, requiring synchronous solutions from training, job connection to policies to attract and "retain" workers today.
