On September 16, the Can Tho Trade Union's Golden Heart Social Charity Fund Branch donated 100 million VND to the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund to help and support people in the northern provinces and cities affected by storm No. 3 (super typhoon Yagi).
Ms. Huynh Thi Hien - Permanent Vice President of Can Tho City Labor Federation, Director of the Can Tho Trade Union's Golden Heart Social Security Fund Branch - said: Responding to the call of the Golden Heart Social Security Fund (Vietnam General Confederation of Labor) to mobilize funds to support people affected by natural disasters and floods, the Standing Committee of Can Tho City Labor Federation has agreed to spend 100 million VND from the Golden Heart Social Security Fund Branch of Can Tho Trade Union into the Golden Heart Social Security Fund to support union members and workers affected by storm No. 3 Yagi in the northern provinces and cities.
At the same time, propose the Fund Management Board to support union members and workers in the following provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Cao Bang and Phu Tho.
Previously, the Can Tho City Labor Federation organized a fundraising event to support people affected by storm No. 3 Yagi. The city's labor unions at all levels mobilized civil servants, public employees, union members, and workers to uphold the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and actively participate in supporting, sharing, and providing material and spiritual assistance to people facing difficulties due to the impact of storms and floods.
Accordingly, each cadre, civil servant, public employee, union member and worker will contribute 1 day's salary/income or more.
