Warm Tet Eve meal
Binh Duong ward currently has 8 industrial zones and clusters with 1,522 units and businesses and more than 80,000 workers and laborers. In the past year, the lives and jobs of workers have been relatively stable. However, there is still a part of workers who do not have overtime, live in rented rooms, and their lives are still difficult. Tet holiday is approaching, many workers do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns to celebrate with their families.
In that context, the Binh Duong Ward Trade Union has planned to organize many Tet care activities for union members. The most notable is the Year-end Trade Union Meal program at boarding houses. The Ward Trade Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Duong Ward in coordination with boarding houses organized the program "Reunion Meal - Tet of Affection" with cozy and meaningful Year-end meals for workers far from home.
At Thai Van Chung boarding house on DX 013 street (Binh Duong ward), activities were organized with 6 trays of rice and about 60 workers participating. The tray of rice had many delicious dishes such as spring rolls, chicken, braised dishes, hotpot, and fruits. The meal brought a warm space, gathering workers, landlords and trade union officials on the last day of the year.
“We are far from home, far from family to Ho Chi Minh City to start a business. Currently, living in rented rooms is still lacking and difficult. Being supported by the Trade Union to organize a year-end reunion meal, we are very happy and excited. The meal helps us workers to gather around, share life, reduce hardships and homesickness,” Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Khai (31 years old, from Gia Lai) expressed.
Landlord shares with workers
From one boarding house, the program is spreading, organizing more in many other boarding houses. Mr. Pham Tuan Tu - Chairman of Binh Duong Ward Trade Union - said that the program is implemented by the unit in 5 boarding house areas.
The "Reunion Meal - Tet of Gratitude" program is both a Year-end Meal and a tribute to workers who have chosen Binh Duong ward as a place to live and start a career. The program is also one of the activities to contribute to the goal of leaving no one in difficult circumstances behind in the ward," Mr. Pham Tuan Tu shared.
Through propaganda, landlords accompany and care for and share with workers far from home, such as at the rented house of Mr. Nguyen Van Lam (Hoa Phu 1 neighborhood, Binh Duong ward) which coordinated with the Binh Duong Ward Trade Union to organize a program with 3 year-end meals for more than 30 workers. The meal took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, landlords and ward trade union officials and workers.
