Proposal, dialogue to increase food rations, improve working space
Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. is one of the enterprises with a large number of workers with 4 factories in Vietnam and about 11,000 employees. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, the company has 2 factories located in Di An ward and Ben Cat ward. The highlight is that the grassroots trade union at the enterprise operates very effectively, being a reliable support for employees.
Every year, the Trade Union coordinates with enterprises to organize conferences of labor delegates. Through the conference, union members and workers directly recommended the remaining problems that needed to be adjusted. In 2024 and 2025, these conferences have brought many positive results, contributing to building an increasingly better working environment for workers and employees.
At the conference, with the participation of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, the Board of Directors of the company and employees, many contents were recommended such as: Working uniforms, Tet bonuses, benefits, and work space arrangement. The above issues were all answered, recorded and a roadmap was developed by the Board of Directors to meet the legitimate aspirations of workers.
According to the Trade Union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd., through employee conferences, the company has implemented many changes to improve the working environment. In 2024, the company increased the Tet bonus and paid early bonuses according to the wishes of employees; improved fabric quality, expanded the size of uniforms for more convenience; replaced medical examiners with facial recognition, helping to reduce waiting time when going in and out of work; equipped with air conditioners at all workshops, creating a cool working environment; improve welfare regimes for employees with long-term commitments.
Notably, the recommendations and negotiations of the Trade Union have convinced the company to increase the value of the portion to 34% compared to before.
Caring for workers in difficulty
The Trade Union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. is also a support for workers in difficult circumstances. Every year, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union always cares about and makes a list of support for workers and employees in difficulty.
In special cases, the grassroots trade union finds solutions to accompany workers such as: Submitting to the superior trade union for support, calling for donations within the company.
Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union - said that in 2025, the unit called for and supported 4 union members with serious illnesses and work-related accidents.
Accordingly, in May 2025, the Trade Union mobilized support for Mr. N.T.A (born in 1991, working at My Phuoc factory, Ben Cat ward) who suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a motorbike accident and Mr. T.K (born in 2004, working at Tra Vinh factory, Vinh Long province) who suffered a serious traffic accident. After a short time of calling, the entire company has raised 405 million VND to support the two workers.
In August 2025, the Trade Union mobilized support from Ms. N.T.L (born in 1993, a production worker in Di An ward) in the amount of 202 million VND.
Recently, the Trade Union continued to call for help to Ms. V.T.B.L (born in 1991, from Can Tho), a factory employee in My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, who has cancer.
After only 1 week of launching, 11,000 union members and workers at 4 factories joined hands to donate 228.5 million VND, which was directly given to Ms. L by the Trade Union and the company's leaders.
Trade unions arouse solidarity and sharing
Mr. Le Tin Nghia - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that whenever there are union members and workers facing difficulties, the Trade Union always stands up to find support solutions. The Executive Committee of the Trade Union has called for support for many cases in difficult circumstances. On average, each case is supported with over 200 million VND. Union members and workers have promoted solidarity and supported difficult cases. On the occasion of storms in 2024, union members also donated 400 million VND to support people in flooded areas.
