Bringing information closer to workers
In the context of multi-dimensional information and strong digital transformation, workers can access a very large amount of information every day. However, not all information is complete, accurate and easy to verify.

This poses an requirement that the Trade Union organization must promptly provide official information, helping union members and workers understand correctly the guidelines, policies, laws and identify misinformation.
From that requirement, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has innovated propaganda work in a diverse and practical direction, suitable for each target group; combining direct propaganda with online propaganda, between traditional methods and digital platforms.
Since the City Trade Union Congress, the City Labor Federation has organized 50 direct propaganda classes for 9,500 union members and workers; 2 legal advice conferences with more than 500 participants and a law knowledge contest attracting over 100 union members and workers.
The city trade union also organized three conferences "Listening to union members speak" in key industrial parks and economic zones, attracting about 850 union members and workers. Commune and ward trade unions and grassroots trade unions also organized propaganda at nearly 70 locations with about 6,200 participants.
Along with direct activities, communication in the digital environment continues to be promoted. Trade union levels have posted nearly 1,500 news, articles, and photos on the city's Trade Union fanpage and about 1,000 news, articles, and photos on the Electronic Information Portal, thereby reaching about 85% of union members and workers.
The City Trade Union also coordinates to maintain the special page, column "Labor and Trade Union" in Da Nang newspapers, radio and television. Every year, 12 special pages and 28 columns with reports and news series have reflected Trade Union activities, life, jobs as well as issues directly related to workers and laborers.
Create consensus through dialogue and care
Propaganda will hardly create trust if it only stops at conveying one-way information. Therefore, a noteworthy point in the approach of the Da Nang Trade Union is to combine propaganda with dialogue, listening and solving problems arising from the grassroots level.

At the meeting and dialogue between the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang city unit, leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the City People's Committee with union members and workers, many practical issues were raised.
The dialogue content spans from housing, cultural institutions, transport infrastructure to jobs, wages, social insurance, vocational training; from rent, electricity, water to health care, food safety, schools and workers' pick-up hours.
Issues that cannot be answered immediately in the hall are studied and responded to in writing by departments, agencies, and sectors in coordination with the City Labor Federation. This approach helps dialogue not stop at recording opinions but is associated with the responsibility of answering and resolving.
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Chairwoman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said that trust is the foundation of solidarity. Propaganda is only truly effective when workers are provided with complete and accurate information, express their thoughts and receive timely answers to their concerns.
When workers have an official channel to receive information, reflect recommendations and see their opinions being listened to and resolved, consensus will be raised, and the risk of arising frustrations and conflicts will also be limited," Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh shared.
According to Ms. Linh, the effectiveness of propaganda is also created from the results of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers. A policy that is clearly explained, a proposal that is answered thoroughly, or a difficult case that is supported promptly all contribute to consolidating trust and increasing the attachment of union members to the Trade Union organization.
