Higher demand in the new situation
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, said: After the merger of the two localities of Da Nang and Quang Nam, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has many advantages but also faced many challenges.

Especially in the context of Vietnam's international integration, the implementation of new-generation free trade agreements, the emergence of labor representative organizations at enterprises as well as the complex and unpredictable impacts of the international political and economic situation will greatly affect the situation of workers, especially making the workers' security situation more complicated.
Along with that, in the new context, the new situation with higher requirements to build a new Da Nang city to develop strongly and reach new heights will pose many challenges for the trade union organization.
To meet new requirements, the City Labor Federation has synchronously implemented key solutions.
First, when putting into operation the new union organization apparatus, building working regulations of the Executive Committee, reviewing and developing a key work program for the last 6 months of the year, setting out tasks and solutions to successfully implement the goals and targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Along with that, thoroughly grasp the role and tasks of commune and ward trade unions to promote their role in the locality, grasp the area and situation, and effectively perform the tasks assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Building a dynamic staff
Second, focus on building a dynamic team of union officials to meet the requirements of new tasks. In a more expanded and inclusive area and in the new situation, the role of trade union officials, especially grassroots trade union officials, is extremely important.
"We thoroughly educate union officials and union members to be close to the grassroots and union members to grasp and support in a timely manner, handle the situation of worker security and issues arising at enterprises, prevent hot spots related to labor relations, resolve labor disputes, collective work stoppages, and illegal strikes.
Grasp, propagate, promptly detect and prevent acts of taking advantage of the right to establish trade unions of workers at enterprises to fight against the Party, State, regimes and trade union organizations," said Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh.
Third, focus on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions. This is an important task of the organization in this new situation.
Not only focusing on developing trade unions in enterprises, in the coming time, we will focus on establishing trade unions, thereby attracting and gathering more entities into trade unions according to the provisions of the Trade Union Law and the Charter of Vietnam Trade Unions.
Fourth, after streamlining and arranging the apparatus, trade unions focus resources to carry out care and organization of activities at non-state units, to affirm the role and functions of trade union organizations as well as enhance the stature of organizations in the new situation.
The top priority at present is to focus on reviewing contents related to negotiations, collective labor agreements, and dialogues at the workplace. These are contents practically related to the rights of workers, ensuring harmonious labor relations in enterprises as well as in the city.
"The Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation will assign each locality and each enterprise to each cadre to conduct a review as well as support grassroots trade unions, in order to not only increase the quantity but also ensure the quality in each Collective Labor Agreement.
Along with that, we will study and develop programs and activities suitable to practical and practical conditions and be closer to workers, ensuring that all union members in the city are cared for and cared for by the trade union organization," said Ms. Linh.
