Speaking at the seminar, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Thai Thu Xuong emphasized that the seminar "The work of mobilizing female workers and employees and the emulation movement "Good at work, good at home - Current situation and solutions in the new period" was organized to comprehensively assess 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 6b/NQ-BCH of the Executive Committee of the VGCL and the policies of the VGCL on the work of mobilizing female workers and employees.
At the seminar, delegates representing the Trade Union Affairs Committee, the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee, and grassroots trade unions with a large number of female workers also exchanged and discussed the effectiveness of implementing policies for female workers at enterprises; pressures and challenges of female workers in the context of digital transformation and current job changes; the role of dialogue and collective bargaining in protecting the rights of female workers... Along with that, recommendations and proposals for solutions and policies to improve the lives of female workers such as strengthening inspection and examination of the implementation of labor laws, especially regulations related to female workers; having mechanisms to support businesses to invest in welfare projects such as kindergartens, preschools, worker housing and health care facilities; increasing maternity leave for pregnant female workers...
After listening to the exchanges and discussions at the seminar, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong affirmed that after 15 years of implementing Resolution 6b and Directive 03, the work of mobilizing female workers and employees has achieved many important results. Trade union levels have gradually innovated the content and methods of operation; the emulation movement "Good at work, good at home" continues to be maintained and spread; the role of the Mass Women's Committee is increasingly promoted; many models of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of female workers have brought practical effects.
In particular, in Hai Phong - a locality with a very large female labor force in industrial parks, there are many good models of dialogue, collective bargaining, building higher welfare policies than the provisions of law, taking care of reproductive health, supporting raising young children, skills training and building a friendly working environment for female workers.
However, women's work is facing many new requirements. Digital transformation, green transformation, the rapid development of science and technology, along with the fluctuations of the labor market are creating both opportunities and challenges for female workers. Issues such as housing, kindergartens, reproductive health care, working conditions... still need to be further concerned and improve policies.
Women's work in the coming period needs to continue to strongly innovate both in thinking and operating methods, from organizing activities according to plan to solving issues that union members and workers are really concerned about. Trade union levels need to continue to promote the effectiveness of dialogue at workplaces and collective bargaining; improve the quality of activities of the Mass Women's Committee; promote the application of digital technology in propaganda and connecting union members. At the same time, build many practical models of care for health, life skills, parenting skills, building happy families and comprehensively developing female workers.

After this seminar, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour requested trade union levels to continue to review and evaluate the reality in their localities and units; proactively summarize valid recommendations and proposals, and at the same time study and replicate good models and effective ways of doing things so that women's work truly goes into depth, bringing more practical values to union members and workers.
The Women's Affairs Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour summarizes practical opinions and recommendations through surveys and seminars to advise the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to develop and promulgate resolutions on mobilizing female workers and employees in the new situation in order to effectively implement the resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress on women's affairs.
Also at the seminar, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded 350 sets of English reading markers to children of union members in difficult circumstances in Hai Phong City.
