On the morning of June 29, Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2nd (expanded) Executive Committee Conference, summarizing the workers' movement and trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2026.
Positive numbers
In the first 6 months of the year, trade union levels in the province continued to innovate the content and methods of operation, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center.
The whole province newly developed 18,324 union members, an increase of 13,282 union members, reaching 66.41% of the year's target; newly established 27 grassroots trade unions and grassroots professional unions, bringing the total number to 766 grassroots trade unions with more than 213,450 union members.
During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, trade union levels have cared for more than 315,500 turns of union members and workers with a total budget of over 91.3 billion VND through the programs "Tet Sum vay", "Trade Union Year-end Meal", supporting the construction and repair of houses and visiting union members in difficult circumstances.
In Workers' Month 2026, more than 117,000 turns of union members continued to be supported with a total budget of over 10.7 billion VND.

The whole province has 613/626 enterprises with trade union organizations signing collective labor agreements, reaching 97.92%; nearly 95% of enterprises implement grassroots democracy regulations. Trade union levels have organized dialogues, negotiations, and legal advice for nearly 2,800 turns of union members.
More than 238,000 turns of union members and workers were propagated about the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State and trade union resolutions. Patriotic emulation movements continue to spread widely with more than 500 recognized initiatives and solutions, making a profit of over 3 billion VND.
Building a team of professional trade union officials
At the conference, the Provincial Labor Federation launched the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income" for the period 2026 - 2031. Speaking to direct the conference, Mr. Dinh Van Dung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged and praised the outstanding results of trade union levels in the first 6 months of 2026, especially the work of developing union members, taking care of workers' lives and effectively organizing emulation movements.

Mr. Dung said that the operational efficiency of the Trade Union organization is not measured by the number of meetings but must be affirmed by the trust and satisfaction of union members and workers; where there are workers, there needs to be a Trade Union organization.
He proposed that trade union levels continue to build a team of professional, dedicated, and responsible trade union officials, especially trade union officials at enterprises who need to promote their role as a bridge, respond harmoniously, and contribute to building stable and progressive labor relations. Trade union levels need to promote propaganda and education of revolutionary ideals, foster and introduce outstanding union members and workers to the Party for consideration and admission.

On this occasion, the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation organized the awarding of Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to 1 collective and 2 individuals; awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Labor Federation to 10 collectives and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026.
The conference also summarized 3 years of implementing the coordination program between the Provincial Labor Federation and CEP Microfinance Organization to implement the Project "Preventing and combating black credit among workers". The two units agreed to continue signing a new phase of the coordination program.
