In the Binh Duong area, Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. has 2 factories with about 7,000 workers, with an average income of 8-12 million VND/month. Although life is basically stable, there are still workers who unfortunately suffer from serious illnesses and difficult circumstances.
Ms. T.T. T.Q (born in 2004, from Can Tho) started working at Di An workshop, Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. from October 2023. In March 2026, she discovered a large tumor in her right shoulder blade, the shoulder bone was eroded and broken, and had to be hospitalized for chemotherapy.
According to the company's grassroots trade union, Ms. Q is in difficult circumstances, having lived with her maternal grandparents since childhood. Growing up, she came to Ho Chi Minh City to work, helping her grandparents and younger sibling. "The treatment costs have exceeded the family's ability to pay. Ms. Q herself is in a state of poverty, and needs the sharing of all employees in the company" - Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - Chairwoman of the company's grassroots trade union informed.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung, after the grassroots trade union issued a message sharing, it received a lot of support from union members and workers working in the company. After a period of calling, all workers raised 230 million VND to support Ms. T.T. T.Q. Representatives of the grassroots trade union came to the residence to hand over the entire amount to Ms. Q.
Working at the company's factory in Di An ward, recently Ms. V.T.N. X (55 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) unfortunately suffered from many diseases that made life difficult. Fortunately, the grassroots trade union has proposed to the company to arrange suitable jobs so that I can have income to cover my living expenses. Recently, I also received a gift from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress. This gift contributes to encouraging me to continue striving and rise up in life" - Ms. V.T.N. X shared.
Supporting workers injured in labor accidents
In addition to caring for workers with dangerous diseases, trade union levels regularly pay attention to supporting workers who unfortunately suffered labor accidents. Mr. Vo Trung Tinh (38 years old, working at a company in Hoa Loi ward) is one of the workers being cared for by the Trade Union organization.
Mr. Vo Trung Tinh shared that during his work, in 2019, he unfortunately suffered a work accident causing 72% health damage. After the accident, traveling was difficult, and life had to depend on relatives. Fortunately, Mr. Tinh was always encouraged and supported by colleagues and the Trade Union. At the factory, the Trade Union proposed that the company arrange work suitable for Mr. Tinh's health. On holidays and Tet, the Trade Union always gives gifts and provides both material and spiritual support.
“I had an accident, lost my ability to work, lost 1/3 of my right femur, deformed right pelvis, hip osteoarthritis. When the weather is bad, I often feel pain. Thanks to the support of the Trade Union, I have gradually strived to rise up in life. Recently, I was visited and encouraged by leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in my rented room. I was supported with a gift of 5 million VND in cash and a gift of 500,000 VND. I am very happy and excited. This amount of money helps my family have more funds to cover expenses. I am really grateful to the Trade Union organization,” Mr. Tinh confided.
Similarly, Mr. Huynh Thanh Sang (35 years old, working at a company in Binh Duong ward) also unfortunately suffered a work accident that affected 60% of his health. "I suffered a work accident that caused my family to fall into a prolonged crisis. Medical expenses exceeded my ability to pay. I am also the main breadwinner, injured and had to temporarily quit my job, so my family lost income. These difficulties have caused my family to borrow money, creating prolonged financial pressure. Fortunately, I am always encouraged by Trade Union officials. Recently, I was visited by leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and supported with a gift worth 5.5 million VND. I don't know what else to say, thank you Trade Union for always being by the workers' side" - Mr. Sang said.
