On June 18, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor announced that it is organizing the program "Accompanying single mothers to raise young children in especially difficult circumstances" in 2025.
This is the first time the program has been organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor, aiming to demonstrate the concern, care and support of the trade union organization for the lives of union members and workers, especially single female workers raising young children in difficult and stressful economic conditions.
Through the program, the Provincial Federation of Labor will provide support and assistance to nearly 100 female workers in difficult circumstances who are single and raise young children, with a total amount of 170 million VND.
Receiving support from the program, Ms. Phan Thi Huyen (under the Trade Union of Vung Tau Urban Services and Construction Joint Stock Company) was moved and shared about her difficult circumstances. With the income of road sweepers, having to raise 2 young children in grades 6 and 7, she herself has just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is being treated, the whole family is renting a room... so life is very difficult.
"Many nights, watching my children sleep, loving them and the current situation made me unable to hold back my tears. I am very touched to receive the attention and support of the union during this difficult time," Ms. Huyen choked up.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the program is not only a timely sharing of material things but also a spiritual encouragement, helping women to be more confident, continue to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and take better care of their children. At the same time, it clearly demonstrates the role, responsibility and affection of the trade union organization for workers.
Currently, many workers, especially female workers, not only work for their own lives, but also for the future of their children. The situation of raising young children alone is more difficult, carrying more burden and worth considering than ever.
"We believe that, with the tireless efforts of care and the support of the trade union organization, it will help single mothers strongly overcome difficulties, excellently complete assigned tasks, raise children to develop well, and become useful citizens in society," said Mr. Hung.
