Mr. Le Minh Hung - Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor said that in 2025, the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor was assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to increase the number of union members by 20,000.
Determining that the work of gathering to develop union members and establish grassroots unions (CDCS) is a key, top-notch, and vital task of the Vietnam Trade Union, the Standing Committee of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor has directed the trade unions at all levels at the grassroots level to review workers in the management area to approach and mobilize employers and propagate to workers to clearly understand their legitimate rights and interests when joining the Trade Union organization.
Mr. Hung said that the Standing Committee of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor has directed the Trade Unions at the grassroots level to coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to develop union members and establish new grassroots trade unions.
In 2025, the Tien Giang Provincial Trade Union will focus on developing union members working at ferry terminals, wharves, private kindergartens, etc. At the same time, developing union members in places where there are 5 or more workers, said Mr. Hung.

Tien Giang Provincial Trade Union has focused on practical care for union members such as: negotiating and bargaining to ensure salary, bonus, and welfare regimes higher than those prescribed for employees; Introduce to union members access preferential loans from CEP microfinance institutions,....
At the same time, promote propaganda through social networks, newspapers, and trade union websites to post attractive information for workers to approach vividly.
In addition, legal regulations are advised to union members and workers for understanding to ensure their rights. The union also supports gifts and organizes cultural, sports, tourism and picnicking activities for union members and workers to promptly encourage and entertain and relax after work.
By the above methods, in 2024, the Tien Giang Provincial Trade Union has increased by 9,097 union members (reaching 101.08% of the target), bringing the total number of union members in the province to 139,876 people. Thereby, attracting many workers to participate, contributing to building a strong Trade Union organization, better protecting the rights of union members and workers.
