Female worker feels secure raising young child
Ms. Ho Thi Nhu Quynh has worked at VTJ Toms Textile Company Limited for 10 years, then she stopped giving birth and returned to work for nearly a month. When preparing to return to work, she worried about how to pump and store milk for her child. After that, she was informed that the company had a " Breast milk express and storage" model with all the necessary items to serve the express and storage of milk.
On the first day of work, near noon, Ms. Nhu Quynh was given a 30-minute break to enter the newly built row of rooms. The room has cool air conditioning, after squeezing the milk, there is a refrigerator for storage. When the working hours are over, she takes the frozen milk bags, brings them home and can use them for her young children.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc (born in 1998, residing in Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province) has a child nearly 1 year old, happy that the company has a model of expressing and storing breast milk. She said that before, her colleagues had to take advantage of their lunch break to go to the toilet to express milk. To preserve the milk, women have to carry ice bags, but the quality of the milk is difficult to ensure.
Now, Ms. Ngoc and her colleagues who are in the process of raising young children have 30 minutes off each day to go to the milking room. "Thanks to the rest time and facilities, clean and guaranteed facilities, everyone is happy, and the pressing and storage of milk is much more efficient" - Ms. Bich Ngoc said.
Humanitarian actions from trade unions and enterprises
In mid-July 2025, the grassroots Trade Union coordinated with the Board of Directors of VTJ Toms Textile Co., Ltd. to officially launch the " Breast milk collection and storage" model. This model is arranged with 6 spacious, clean rooms, with full necessary equipment such as air conditioners, excavators, specialized refrigerators, lavabo, desks and chairs, anti-bacterial solutions, paper towels and instructions for the process of expressing and preserving milk. The total investment cost of the model is up to 200 million VND.
Mr. Le Nhat Tien - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said that the implementation of this model not only has a humane meaning but also shows the practical concern of the company and the Trade Union organization for female workers. We hope to create a friendly working environment, thereby improving productivity and long-term attachment of employees to the enterprise.
According to the leader of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor, the model of "Sporting and storing breast milk" not only solves practical needs, helping female workers feel secure in their work and raising children, but also contributes to building a friendly corporate image for workers.
In the context of many female workers still having difficulty balancing work and taking care of their families, initiatives such as the Breastfeeding and storage model have even more profound humanitarian significance. Not only does it help maintain a source of breast milk for children during an important stage of development, the model also demonstrates the sharing and companionship of businesses and trade unions with workers, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive relationships at the workplace - Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor - said.
