Lao Cai - The Provincial Labor Federation has just awarded funding to support the construction of "Trade Union Shelter" houses for union members in difficult circumstances, helping families stabilize their lives.

On June 4, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation, the unit has just coordinated with the grassroots trade union to organize visits and award funds to support the construction of "Trade Union Shelter" houses for union member Nguyen Thi Hai - residing in Dong Tam village, Yen Thanh commune.

Ms. Hai is currently working at the Yen Binh Regional Medical Center, with difficult economic circumstances. The old house has deteriorated, not ensuring living conditions, but the family does not have the conditions to build and repair it.

At the support handover ceremony, Lao Cai Trade Union encouraged union members and their families to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, continue to strive to work and actively participate in movements launched by the trade union organization.

The support fund is deducted from the "Trade Union Social Fund" of Lao Cai province. This is a regular activity, showing the concern of the trade union organization for union members in particularly difficult housing circumstances.

In recent years, the "Trade Union Shelter" program has become a support for many union members in the province. From the contributions of officials, union members and social mobilization sources, hundreds of families of workers, civil servants, and laborers have had conditions to build or repair houses, gradually stabilizing their lives.

From 2023 to 2025, the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation has supported the construction and repair of 262 "Trade Union Shelter" houses with a total budget of more than 10.8 billion VND.

Housing support not only helps union members reduce immediate difficulties but also creates motivation for workers to feel secure in sticking with agencies, units, and businesses, continuing to contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.

The program also contributes to affirming the role of trade union organizations in caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
