On the afternoon of July 19 at Ton Duc Thang University stadium, the Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament took place.
Attending the closing ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau; Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Anh Tuan; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong, along with representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, central agencies and Ho Chi Minh City.
The final match took place between the Vietnam Bank Union team and Petrovietnam Union.
With a balanced force and tight play, the two teams could not score in the first half.
Stepping into the second half, the Vietnam Bank Union team scored a goal to take the lead in the 47th minute, after a beautiful attacking arrangement. After conceding a goal, the Petrovietnam Union team focused on attacking to find an equalizer. But with a tight defense and good fitness, the Vietnam Bank Union team successfully defended the victory.
In the end, the Vietnam Bank Union team won a minimal 1-0 victory over Petrovietnam Trade Union. As a result, the representative of the banking industry officially became the champion of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.
In the previous third-place match, the Dong Nai 4 Trade Union team defeated Sacombank with a score of 3-0, to win a bronze medal.
The Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is an annual tournament co-organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with the professional companionship of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). This is the 4th season the tournament has been organized, attracting the participation of 48 teams in the qualifying round.
After nearly two months of competition across the country, the tournament has held more than 100 matches, recording more than 650 beautiful goals and many attractive and dramatic performances.
Not only bringing increasingly high professional quality, the season also strongly spreads the spirit of honest, noble, united and fair-play competition, contributing to promoting the movement of physical training and sports among workers, civil servants, and laborers.
The total prize value of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is up to 900 million VND.
