On the morning of July 28, at Nghe An Guest House Hall, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation held a conference to commend outstanding grassroots union officials with outstanding achievements in negotiating, signing and implementing collective labor agreements. At the same time, the Decision to establish the Commune and Ward Trade Union was announced.
The program was attended by Ms. Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor; leaders of socio-political organizations, representatives of enterprises and a large number of grassroots union officials.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025), to honor the silent but persistent contributions of trade union officials - those who have been contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at the grassroots level.
In his opening speech, Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor - affirmed: Collective labor agreements are not only an important tool to protect the rights of workers, but also a testament to the representative role of the Trade Union organization in the context of strong integration and innovation. The union officials who were honored this time are the vivid remains of the spirit of dedication, creativity and bravery of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new era.
Within the framework of the conference, 50 outstanding union officials were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Federation of Labor. These are people who have had many initiatives and experiences in representing, negotiating, signing and supervising the implementation of collective labor agreements, contributing to stabilizing labor relations, especially in FDI enterprises - where there is a potential risk of disputes and strikes.
Along with that, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also awarded the "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization" Medal to a number of trade union officials and leaders of departments and branches of Nghe An province for their positive contributions to the labor movement.
Another key content at the conference was the presentation of representatives of grassroots trade unions such as Sangwoo Company Limited, Kyungshin Company Limited, Haivina Kim Lien Company Limited.
The presentations shared effective collective bargaining models and flexible approaches to ensure the benefits of employees are higher than the level prescribed by law, thereby spreading good experiences throughout the system.
At the conference, the Provincial Federation of Labor announced the decision to establish 23 Commune and Ward Trade Unions - an important milestone in the process of streamlining the organization according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Commune and Ward Trade Unions officially received the decision to establish, the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Inspection Committee and the Chairman of the Trade Union.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor Kha Van Tam expressed his hope that the new units will soon stabilize their organization, promote their role of representing and caring for workers right at the grassroots level.
The conference is an opportunity to recognize and spread the efforts of the team of union officials - the "silent soldiers" on the front to represent and protect workers. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to inspire innovation and improve the quality of trade union activities in the current development context.
