On May 30, the Central Emulation and Reward Committee organized a typical advanced exchange program in the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the Southern region in 2025. This meaningful event aims to honor outstanding individuals and groups, spread creative and effective models in sustainable poverty reduction, contribute to improving people's lives and promote socio-economic development.
Impressive results from the "For the Poor" movement
The emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021 - 2025 has brought many practical results, significantly improving people's lives, especially in localities with high poverty rates. Essential services such as healthcare, education, housing, domestic water, information and preferential credit are focused on investment and support. The appearance of rural areas has also changed positively, and is improving.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Central Emulation and Reward Committee, poverty reduction is a big, consistent and throughout policy of the Party and the State. Under the leadership of the Party, the administration of the Government and the cooperation of the whole society, this work has achieved many important, comprehensive and sustainable results.
Data from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Home Affairs) shows that the rate of poor households according to the multidimensional standard in 2024 is still below 1.9%, down more than 1%; the rate of poor ethnic minority households is below 13.5%, down more than 3%. These are very remarkable figures, demonstrating the important contribution of this emulation movement.
Inspirational examples and creative models
The exchange program introduced 6 outstanding collectives and individuals, sharing experiences, initiatives and inspiring stories about the journey to overcome difficulties, escape poverty and get rich legitimately.
The "Sparender Mother" model of the Women's Union of Kon Tum Provincial Police: Deployed since March 2022, the model has cared for and supported 38 orphans, with a total cost of more than 1.4 billion VND. Many meaningful programs such as "Marching to School", "Spring Volunteer", "Warm Winter Clothes" have contributed to creating a positive living and learning environment for orphans.
Mr. Huynh Van Vu's household (Hau Giang) came up from raising pigs. He shared that he was a bricklayer belonging to a poor household (Hamlet 7, Vi Tan Commune, Vi Thanh City) who was supported by the government to borrow 40 million VND from the Social Policy Bank. He has invested in raising 20-30 pigs/let, earning a profit of nearly 100 million VND/year. Thanks to diligence and determination, his family escaped poverty and stabilized their lives. Mr. Vu said: "Whoever is poorer than me should try to do business, I am poor and know how to suffer, thanks to local policies to help my family overcome poverty".

Or the aloe vera production model according to the value chain of Son Phat Cooperative (Ninh Thuan). Under the management of Mr. Thanh Lai Chu, Director of Son Phat Agricultural Service Cooperative, this model in Xom Bang village, Bac Son commune, Thuan Bac district has created sustainable livelihoods for 32 Raglai ethnic households (including 14 poor households, 17 near-poor households and 1 household that has just escaped poverty). The project invests more than 1.9 billion VND, applies the VietGAP production process, bringing an average profit of nearly 90 million VND/year/household. This model not only contributes to transforming crop structure, creating jobs for 300 local workers but also reduces the rate of poor households in extremely disadvantaged areas.
Mr. Thanh Lai Chu shared: "For many ethnic minorities, life is still difficult. I noticed that aloe vera trees bring high economic efficiency, so I instructed people to grow them to earn more income. I hope that my hometown people will escape poverty and have a stable livelihood from the aloe vera tree so that no one will have to live in poverty."
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his special gratitude to 6 individuals, groups exchanging directly and 2 localities, selected from nearly 100 advanced models. He affirmed: "They are the 'beautiful flowers' in the flower garden of a thousand good deeds, a vivid testament to the spirit of patriotic emulation and the spread of the emulation movement 'For the poor - No one is left behind'.
