In the joyful atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Dien Hong Ward Trade Union, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Dien Hong Ward Market Management Board to organize the "Independent Meal" program for workers and traders in the area. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the spirit of sharing, solidarity and practical care for workers at traditional markets.
The program was attended by Ms. Ha Thi Gai - Party Committee member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, President of the Women's Union of Dien Hong Ward, along with 540 traders from 18 product lines and a large number of customers and local people attending.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Tran Thi Ha Thanh - Chairwoman of Dien Hong Ward Trade Union said that this is an activity to spread the spirit of patriotism, connect the community and clearly demonstrate the caring role of the Trade Union organization in the lives of union members and workers.
"We regularly organize traditional educational activities, price stabilization sales programs and on this September 2nd, we coordinate with the Market Management Board to organize the Independence Meal as a gratitude to workers who are still preserving the traditional market model and spreading the spirit of patriotism" - Ms. Thanh shared.
The atmosphere at the market during the holiday became warmer than ever. Simple meals, full of salty dishes, vegetarian dishes, fruits, and drinks are carefully prepared. For many traders, this is not only a meal to celebrate the National Day, but also a precious care, adding spirit in the context of reduced purchasing power and increasingly high competitive pressure from e-commerce.
Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Thuy, one of the traders who has been attached to the market for more than 20 years, was moved by this attention.
"Although the market trading situation is difficult, thanks to the support of the Trade Union and the Market Management Board, I still have more motivation to try to stick with it. Here, traders are also promoted about how to sell online and pay cashless to improve competitiveness, said Ms. Thuy.
The Independence Meal is not only an occasion for meeting but also affirms the role of the Trade Union in accompanying and caring for the material and spiritual life of workers.
According to the representative of the Ward Union, in the coming time, many practical activities will continue to be implemented so that each worker feels cared for, contributing to improving people's lives and promoting the ward to develop and become stronger.
