On the afternoon of September 2, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dieu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Phu Ward (Ha Tinh Province) said that the old lady sitting next to General Secretary To Lam at the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day this morning was Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Huyen (86 years old, residing in Tran Phu Ward).
According to Mr. Dieu, Huyen's mother was born into a revolutionary family, her father died when she was only 2 months old.
Huyen's mother had 2 children who died on the Cambodian battlefield, martyr Nguyen Van Duong, who died in 1977, and martyr Nguyen Van Cat, who died in 1980.
Huyen's mother currently lives with her youngest son in Tran Phu ward (Lien Cong village, old Dong Mon ward).
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Phu Ward, the fact that Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Huyen sat next to General Secretary To Lam at the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day brought pride to the Party Committee, government and people of Tran Phu Ward in particular and Ha Tinh Province in general.
The ward leaders also shared their wish that Mother Tran Thi Huyen should live happily, healthily, and longevely to witness the changes and development of her homeland and country, and continue to enjoy the regime and policies that the Party and State care about for the family of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
