On the afternoon of September 2, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (FFF), Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front met to express gratitude to international friends on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Attending were 100 international delegates, representatives of leaders of international organizations, people's organizations, non-governmental organizations, businesses and individuals who are close friends and have always accompanied Vietnam throughout the historical journey and in today's development.

In the enthusiastic and exciting atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien expressed his joy and emotion when on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, meeting, visiting and expressing gratitude to international friends who have supported and contributed to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and at the same time, respectfully sending to comrades and friends our warmest greetings, thanks, warmest feelings and best wishes.

President Do Van Chien recalled that exactly 80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh respectfully read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam). With the opening words becoming a common truth of humanity: All people are born equal. Create for them unenforceable rights; in those rights, there is the right to life, freedom and the right to seek happiness". That Declaration has brought Vietnam from a colony country, half-favorite to an independent, free country, the Vietnamese people are truly masters of their own destiny.

The victory of the August Revolution is the crystallization of the passionate patriotism, iron will, and great solidarity of the entire Vietnamese nation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh. These are the victories of the noble spirit of international solidarity, the common joy of peace-loving and fair-minded people around the world, affirmed Mr. Do Van Chien.

Mr. Do Van Chien expressed that today, international visitors present in the capital Hanoi, a city of a thousand culture and for peace, witnessed the entire Party and people of Vietnam solemnly holding the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. All Vietnamese people, regardless of religion, ethnicity, class or social class, are looking forward to the sacred and important event of their country, as General Secretary To Lam stated in his speech on the morning of September 2: "In that sacred hour, we are more and more appreciated by my people and my Fatherland".

Mr. Do Van Chien was pleased to announce to international friends that Vietnam's 80th Anniversary of National Day, September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025 has been a great success, in times, in good weather, in peace, with flags and flowers covering the sky, the soil, and the hearts of people.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, in all revolutionary periods, the Party, State and people of Vietnam always respect and are grateful for the deep affection and valuable support of international friends and people. President Ho Chi Minh once wrote a poem "Seeing a million paintings of a house. All four sides of infertility are brothers. That is the loyal solidarity of the Lao people, the Cambodian people, the sharing of love and affection of the people of China, the former Soviet Union, Cuba and socialist countries, the enthusiastic support of the peace-loving people around the world.

During the period of national reconstruction, international friends have helped Vietnam build many works, factories, schools, hospitals, etc., contributing positively to the development of Vietnam. Among them, there are even those who have been on the "other side of the war" who have overcome their inferiority complex, contributing their efforts to help the Vietnamese people overcome the consequences of war, building a prosperous and happy life for everyone.

According to Mr. Do Van Chien, since the beginning of the country's renovation and construction, Vietnam has always been a policy of multilateralization and diversification, a good friend, a trusted partner, and a responsible member of international organizations. On the basis of 3 pillars: Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy and people's foreign affairs, Vietnam has established friendly cooperative relations with 194 countries and territories around the world; continues to receive support and help from international friends in science and technology, attracting investment capital, cooperating in human resource training... In the fight against natural disasters and epidemics, Vietnam always has international friends sharing and helping effectively, especially in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, Vietnam has about 6 million people working and studying abroad, they are a bridge of friendship between the Vietnamese people and the people of the world, Mr. Do Van Chien informed and said that the Party, State and people of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, are currently leading with great political determination, the very high consensus of the Vietnamese people is to carry out a revolution to streamline the apparatus, implement the model of local government at two levels, arrange the mountain range so that Vietnam can take off to the new era, striving to be a developed country with modern industry, high average income, and a developed country with high income by 2045. The entire Party, people and army of Vietnam are striving for 3 major goals: Maintaining independence, sovereignty, self-reliance and territorial integrity; rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, building a rich, prosperous and powerful country; constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

To achieve those goals, the Party, State and people of Vietnam hope to continue to receive more enthusiastic and effective attention, support and assistance from international friends in all fields, said Mr. Do Van Chien.
