On July 9, Lao Cai Ward Trade Union informed that the unit had just organized a conference to summarize trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2026, deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of the year and announce and award decisions to establish 11 new grassroots trade unions.
Attending the conference were Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem; Standing Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Ward Party Committee Tran Van Thien and representatives of leaders of agencies, units, businesses and grassroots trade unions in the area.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union implemented many activities to care for the lives of union members and workers.
During the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the total care cost reached more than 350 million VND; organized the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party", supporting hundreds of union members in difficult circumstances.
The unit also coordinated to organize Workers' Month activities, provide free health check-ups and consultations for 120 union members, visit and give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, and organize "Trade Union Meals" at enterprises.
According to the report, the employment and income of workers are basically stable, averaging 8.5-9 million VND/person/month. Regimes and policies are implemented promptly, without generating collective labor disputes or strikes.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the achieved results, pointing out shortcomings and difficulties, and proposing many solutions to improve the quality of trade union activities in the coming time.

Also at the conference, the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union announced and awarded decisions to establish 11 new grassroots trade unions. Thereby, raising the total number of directly affiliated grassroots trade unions to 84 units with more than 4,300 union members, exceeding 137.5% of the 2026 development plan.
Mr. Dang Nguyen Hoan - Chairman of Lao Cai Ward Trade Union said that in the last 6 months of the year, the unit will continue to focus on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
At the same time, promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions; deploy emulation movements associated with innovation and digital transformation; strengthen inspection, supervision and build an increasingly strong trade union organization.
