Attending the talks were Mr. Som Chin Thep Pha Chan - Chairman of the Luang Prabang Provincial Trade Union Federation, Head of the working delegation; Mr. To Xuan Thao - Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation, Head of the delegation from Quang Ninh.
At the talks, the two sides exchanged views on the situation of trade union activities, the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the two localities.
The Luang Prabang Provincial Trade Union Federation currently has 11 district-level trade unions, 1 city-level trade union, 13 trade unions under major research institutes and 48 grassroots trade unions, with 13,679 union members.
Speaking at the conference, the working delegation of the Luang Prabang Provincial Trade Union Federation expressed its desire for the Quang Ninh Labor Federation to share experiences in developing trade union organizations and union members in enterprises with few workers; experience in effectively deploying trade union activities according to the 2-level local government model and organizing emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers.
Speaking at the talks, Mr. To Xuan Thao affirmed that trade union activities and the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers in Quang Ninh always receive the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; the coordination of grassroots authorities and the business community.
In 2026, Quang Ninh province sets a GRDP growth target of over 13% and aims to become a centrally-run city. Closely following this goal, Quang Ninh Trade Union is focusing on innovating the content and methods of operation; focusing on developing union members and building strong trade union organizations.
Emulation movements are implemented practically, associated with increasing labor productivity, improving income, innovation, and digital transformation.
In which, the movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income" is concretized at agencies, units, and businesses. The models "Trade Union Flower Garden", "Green - clean - beautiful agencies, units, and businesses" are implemented in association with urban landscape embellishment, accompanying the goal of improving urban quality, towards building Quang Ninh into a centrally-run city.
In the first six months of 2026, Quang Ninh Trade Union levels have newly established 84 grassroots trade unions, reaching 56% of the annual plan, including 61 grassroots trade unions in non-state-owned enterprises.
Trade unions at all levels have coordinated to sign 35 new collective labor agreements, bringing the total number to 961 copies; organized 151 dialogue conferences with 9,511 union members and workers participating.
Also in the first 6 months of the year, trade union levels supported and visited 10,525 union members and workers with a budget of over 15.5 billion VND; organized 138 "Trade Union Meals - Thank you workers" programs for more than 22,000 beneficiaries.
Through the talks, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences, contributing to building sustainable relations between trade union organizations of the two localities and fostering traditional friendly relations between the people of Vietnam and Laos.
