On September 21, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation informed that, implementing the work program and inspection and supervision plan for 2026, Sa Pa Ward Trade Union has strengthened inspection and supervision at affiliated grassroots trade unions.
Up to now, Sa Pa Ward Trade Union has inspected and supervised the compliance with the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union at 3 grassroots trade unions; inspected the management and use of trade union finances and assets at 4 grassroots trade unions.
Through inspection, most grassroots trade unions strictly comply with the Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, maintain a regular lifestyle, implement union member management and deploy activities to care for and protect workers' rights. The management of trade union finances and assets is basically ensured to be in accordance with regulations.
However, the inspection also pointed out some shortcomings at the grassroots level such as incomplete updates of union member records; unscientific arrangement and storage of records and books; some accounting documents are still lacking.
Financial disclosure, self-inspection, and self-supervision at some units have not been maintained regularly; the work of urging union fee collection at some grassroots trade unions is still slow.
Based on the inspection results, Sa Pa Ward Trade Union has guided grassroots trade unions to promote the achieved results, and at the same time seriously overcome the limitations pointed out.
In which, units are required to improve the efficiency of managing union members, finances, assets and maintain the order of self-inspection and supervision.
Inspection and supervision activities are identified as one of the solutions to improve the quality of trade union activities at the grassroots level, contributing to the good implementation of the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
