Workers are happy because they have Tet bonuses.
Although working at a small-scale production company with a small number of workers, workers at Viet Nhat Paper Materials Production Company Limited (under the Hoa Vang District Labor Union) felt very happy when receiving information that there would be salaries and bonuses for workers to celebrate Tet.
Mr. Le The Thong, a union member of the company, confided: “Last year, our jobs and incomes were stable, and our lives improved. The union and the company's board of directors also committed to giving Tet bonuses to employees, so despite being busy, the working atmosphere was exciting because we had money to support our families, especially when the year was ending and Tet was coming like this.”
Mr. Le Tan Trung - Chairman of the Company's Trade Union - said that currently, the company has nearly 100 union members and employees. In the past year, despite many difficulties, the company still ensured the lives of employees, maintained stable salaries and bonuses, and provided timely support to employees in difficulty.
On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the union will coordinate with the company's management to prepare Tet gifts and will have a ceremony to present them to all employees. "In addition to the promised New Year bonus, this Lunar New Year 2025, the company has decided to reward 2 months of salary and 3 million VND for each employee. That is the joy and motivation for union members and employees to stick with the company for a long time," said Mr. Trung.
20,000 union members supported
With the motto "For all union members and workers to have Tet", from the beginning of October 2024, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has specifically communicated the Tet care plan to all union levels.
In Lien Chieu district, in recent days, the district's Labor Federation has been conducting a survey of disadvantaged workers working in industrial parks who are renting accommodation in the area to provide timely Tet support.
Vice President of the Tra Thanh Quang District Labor Federation said: “With the goal of leaving no one behind, the union focuses on caring activities at the grassroots level. In particular, it pays special attention to the workforce working at businesses facing difficulties due to order cuts, temporary suspension of operations, or dissolution or bankruptcy. At the same time, it carries out activities to visit and give gifts to single female workers and workers in difficulty who are renting accommodation in the district.”
At the city level, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will organize a series of grassroots activities with the goal of ensuring that union members and workers receive the attention and care of the Union organization, including: Providing support to 20,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, having work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses or being affected by natural disasters, losing their jobs, having reduced working hours... with a support level of no more than 1 million VND/person (of which, 700,000 VND in cash and 300,000 VND in kind).
The Da Nang City Labor Federation will organize the program "Tet Sum Vay, Xuan An Dang" and the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market with 40,000 free shopping vouchers for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each voucher worth 100,000 VND. In particular, the Trade Union Buses will continue to roll to bring thousands of union members and workers home to celebrate Tet safely, free of charge, from January 20 to January 27, 2025 (December 21 to December 28 of the Lunar calendar).
