The fire broke out at around 11:30 p.m. on January 13 at house number 16, lane 612, Ngo Gia Tu street (Ninh Phong ward, Hoa Lu city, Ninh Binh).
At that time, there were 5 people in the house, including 3 adults and 2 children who were sleeping. They woke up from smoke inhalation and discovered the house was on fire, so they ran out.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - the homeowner recounted that the couple was sleeping on the second floor when they were suffocated by smoke and woke up to find smoke billowing from the room. The couple opened the door and ran outside to find the kitchen on the first floor on fire. At this time, both husband and wife ran to the third floor to wake everyone up and carried their child out through the outdoor stairs.
"Luckily my house has an outside staircase so I was able to escape, otherwise I don't know what would have happened" - Mr. Dung said.
About 30 minutes after the firefighters arrived, the fire was extinguished. Although there were no casualties, the entire kitchen on the first floor of Mr. Dung's family was burned down. The damage was estimated at about 200 million VND.
