On November 7, the Mekong Delta University Trade Union held the 6th Congress for the 2025-2030 term with 80 delegates representing 333 union members (including 179 women) participating in activities at 12 union groups.
During the past term, 100% of union members' rights were taken care of, 17 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party, and all Resolution targets were well met.
The grassroots union also mobilized social funds to contribute more than VND426 million, 100% of union members completed their tasks, actively participated in cultural and sports movements and built cultural units.
The Congress elected an Executive Committee of 09 comrades. Comrade Nguyen Kim Quyen was elected as the 6th Chairman of the Trade Union of Mekong Delta University, term 2025-2030. The Congress also elected 01 comrade to attend the 1st Congress of the Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030.
Entering the new term, the Trade Union aims to introduce at least 20 outstanding union members to the Party, improve the quality of collective labor agreements and effectively implement the Grassroots Democracy Regulations.
The grassroots trade union strives for 90% of union members to study policies and laws, 40% to improve their professional qualifications, and 100% of union officials to be trained in professional skills.
Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu - Principal of the school - emphasized that he will continue to introduce outstanding union members to the Party, contributing to building the school, province and locality to develop, and at the same time electing a new Executive Committee with capacity and enthusiasm.
Comrade Le Nguyen Lan Anh praised the achievements of the grassroots trade union, suggested focusing on caring for the rights of workers, improving the dissemination of resolutions and implementing emulation movements well.
He also requested that the new term promote the development of union members, maintain solidarity, promptly resolve difficulties for workers and improve the effectiveness of union activities.
