School trade union promotes scientific research movement

Not only caring for the lives of union members, the Grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of Can Tho Vocational College also strongly promotes the scientific research (NCKH) and innovation movement, contributing to improving the quality of training in the school.

Creative movement spreading from lecture halls

At Can Tho Vocational College, the emulation movement does not stop at slogans but is realized by initiatives and research projects right in each lecture hour and practice workshop.

A clear proof is the series of centralized acceptance councils taking place from July 9 to 11, 2026. In just 3 days, the school accepted 125 projects and products, including 34 initiatives and experiences, 7 scientific research topics, 13 self-made training equipment, 68 scientific articles and 3 monographs.

Many models and devices are highly appreciated for their applicability such as "Basic IoT practice suitcase", "Two-seater inverter refrigerator spreading model", "CAN signal diagnostic kit on cars"...

In particular, previously, the project "Design and construction of cold storage using stacking cycles" of the Faculty of Cold Heat Technology was awarded the Creative Labor Medal by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Trung - Chairman of the school's grassroots trade union - said that the value of the initiatives is condensed into three words "Real - Practical - Transfer". The projects not only help improve teaching efficiency, save equipment investment costs but also promote digital transformation, application of artificial intelligence (AI) and improve the research and innovation capacity of the teaching staff.

In the last 6 months of the year, the school's Trade Union will focus on 2 key areas. First, standardize and replicate the "Specialized AI Assistant" system in all departments and rooms to optimize work efficiency. Second, promote the mechanism of ordering scientific research directly from the needs of businesses so that the products produced have an immediate application address" - Mr. Trung said.

Leverage for union members to be creative

To make the creative movement develop sustainably, the school's Trade Union coordinates with the school to create a spiritual and material support, encouraging union members to research and innovate.

In spirit, we arouse professional pride through the movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor", organizing periodic forums for sharing and democratic dialogues to listen to and remove difficulties in the research and teaching process" - teacher Trung shared.

In terms of materials, the school's Trade Union advises the Board of Directors to maintain regulations on commensurate bonuses for excellent articles and initiatives; practically support funding for self-purchasing teaching tools and comprehensive health care for officials and employees.

Teacher Trang Vu Phuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Principal of the school - assessed that the grassroots trade union is a strategic companion, a "strength" connecting to bring the policies of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors into practice.

The movements launched by the trade union all aim for practical effectiveness, contributing to turning the pressure from financial autonomy and building high-quality schools into a driving force for innovation.

The school is committed to dedicating resources to creativity, coordinating with trade unions to expand business cooperation, ordering and supporting funding for young research groups, helping lecturers feel secure in innovating and igniting career fire" - Mr. Phuong emphasized.
