On the morning of June 25, at the solemn session of the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2026 - 2031, on behalf of the Presidium, presenting a summary of the Political Report submitted to the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union said that in the period 2022 - 2026, Youth Union work and youth and children's movements were implemented in a context of mixed advantages and difficulties; digital transformation, international integration, the Fourth Industrial Revolution had a profound impact; the entire political system implemented arrangement, streamlining organizational structure and operating according to a new model.
It is in that context that the bravery, creativity and adaptability of the Youth Union organization continue to be affirmed.
Under the leadership of the Party, the attention of the State, the coordination of all levels and sectors and the efforts of the Youth Union officials, union members, and youth and children nationwide, the Youth Union work and youth and children's movement in the past term have achieved comprehensive results, with many highlights; both closely following the political tasks of the country, and better meeting the legitimate needs and aspirations of youth; contributing to fostering ideals, arousing the aspiration to contribute and promoting the pioneering and creative role of Vietnamese youth in building and protecting the Fatherland.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, the 2026 - 2031 term is a particularly important period, when the country enters a new stage of development, towards the milestones of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
In that spirit, along with the lessons learned in the XII term, Youth Union work and youth and children's movements in the 2026 - 2031 term focus on implementing the following key tasks:
First, focus on building a generation of Vietnamese youth with revolutionary ideals, morality, bravery, aspiration to contribute, adaptability and development capacity in the digital age.
Second, to widely deploy the movement "Vietnamese youth pioneers in the new era", which will be the axis throughout the "5 Pioneers" system, focusing on the country's strategic tasks: developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation; starting a business, starting a career, participating in economic development; international integration; volunteering for the community; protecting the Fatherland, maintaining political security, social order and safety.
Third, effectively implement the program "Comprehensive Development of Vietnamese Youth". The Youth Union organization needs to strongly shift from organizing activities to creating an environment, conditions and opportunities for youth development.
Fourth, focus on building a comprehensively strong Union, with sufficient capacity to operate and develop in the new organizational model.
Fifth, improve the quality of the work in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Pioneer Youth Team, caring for, educating and protecting teenagers and children.
Sixth, promote the role of youth in participating in building and protecting the Party, building the political system. Effectively implement the task of protecting the ideological foundation of the Party; strengthen the struggle to refute wrong and hostile views, especially in cyberspace.
With the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, with the aspiration to rise up of the young generation, the Congress calls on Vietnamese youth to be proud, firmly believe in the Party, determined to build great ambitions, join hands, be united, pioneers, and move forward strongly in the era of national rise, contributing to realizing the aspiration to develop a prosperous, civilized, and happy country, firmly moving towards socialism" - the Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union emphasized.
