Create conditions for employees to participate more deeply in the digital transformation process
Attending and speaking at the Forum “Human and Technology Development: Towards a Digitally Inclusive Society for Vietnam” organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Samsung Group and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on October 18, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh emphasized that the 4.0 revolution and the strong digital transformation trend have brought many opportunities but also posed many challenges for businesses, workers and the Vietnam Trade Union.

Digital transformation has helped improve workers’ access to technology, qualifications, and digital skills in work and life, promoting the pioneering role of workers in the digital transformation process. However, there is still a large number of workers who have limited knowledge of technology and have difficulty accessing new technology platforms such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, etc.
"In order to facilitate workers to participate more deeply and effectively in the digital transformation process, contributing to the realization of the "Era of national growth", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor always strives and is ready to cooperate with relevant parties to discuss and identify issues that need improvement, propose effective solutions to build people and technology towards a digitalized Vietnam, where technology serves everyone's life, ensuring that no one is left behind" - Mr. Phan Van Anh affirmed.
Improving digital capacity requires the cooperation of the whole society
According to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong, in its role as a comprehensive advisory body on the Socio-Economic Development Strategy, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has advised and submitted to competent authorities many mechanisms, policies, programs and projects to promote digital transformation, ensuring sustainable and equitable development.

According to research on Vietnam's digital economy by Google, it is predicted that by 2030, the annual economic impact value of digital technology in Vietnam could reach 1,733 trillion VND (equivalent to 74 billion USD).
"However, to achieve the goal of the National Strategy for Digital Economy and Digital Society Development: By 2030, digital skills will be universalized for all classes in society, the rate of people of working age trained in basic digital skills reaching over 70% is a huge challenge.
In addition, ensuring the "narrowing of the digital gap" is also a huge challenge in the context of strong digital technology development. Vulnerable groups of people are at risk of falling behind in digital skills in life and work. Therefore, improving digital capacity is a long-term process and requires the cooperation of the whole society," the Deputy Minister affirmed.
Mr. Patrick Haverman - Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam assessed - Vietnam is a latecomer in accessing the Internet but is quickly becoming the most active "digital citizen" in the world.
"Vietnam has up to 84% of its population accessing the Internet, 78 million people use the Internet to read news, of which 72 million people are active on social networks. Notably, not only do they access the Internet passively, many Vietnamese people also use social networks to develop the economy" - Mr. Patrick Haverman assessed.
